Agriculture

As we drove into the western highlands we started to pass coffee, tea and banana plantations.
This is a coffee bush
Here are tea plants
These bananas are used to brew beer.  The bananas are picked while still green, allowed to ripen and the juice is squeezed and fermended for 4-5 days.  Sometimes sorghum is added in the brewing process.
These are sweet bananas.
This is matooke, a kind of plantain and local staple. A lot is grown in the Ndali area on the rich black volcanic soil.
